Christmas break ends Wednesday, and we have to start preparing for dreaded exams. Our previous principal, in one last supreme brain fart, pulled a completely different exam schedule out of his butt to confuse us all one final time. We have midterms after break, instead of before, like usual. Hopefully I'm exempt from most of them. Probably not Physics, though! Physics has been my worst enemy this year, terrorizing my dreams and butchering my GPA. It's also the only class between me and my shiny new mac.
I made a deal with my dad for the end of the year. If I have a B average for the year in math (College Algebra and Trig) and physics, then he'll buy me a brand new computer. Well, the algebra didn't torment me as expected, and I managed to squeeze out a B. Trig hopefully will be the same way, but Physics...I dunno. It's the only class I've actually had problems in, and it's grinding at my last nerve.
I usually don't figure out what I want for Christmas until about this time. I don't have too many things, but they're pretty good.
- Nintendo Wii
- Money for gas
- Long-sleeve shirts (I usually don't ask for clothes, but most of my winter clothes are blue, and it kind of gets monotonous.)
- iTunes Gift Card
- Petco Gift Card for new fish
- Blank CDs (Lightscribe, preferably)
- Surprise me.
Lots of gift cards, since I like to spend them at my own leisure. My parents have pretty much shot down my wish for a Wii, but they may be cracking a bit. Hopefully I'll survive the last few days till Christmas break.
Why? Well, ol' Monty finally left his post and our temporary principal, we'll call him C, has taken over until next Wednesday. C thinks he can change the world in six days, but all of us doubt it. Our little period of wasted instruction time meeting this morning assured us that things will be different, but not altogether horrible. It can't be much worse than Monty. The emo pants and hair could end shortly, with the dress code being more strongly enforced, and that should curb the agressive Emo Cancer spreading across campus.
Hopefully, all will end well.
A guy in Denver has put the entire world in control of his yard's Christmas decorations. During the day, control his inflatable Santa, Homer Simpson, Elmo, and Frosty. During the night, control his Christmas lights. So if you're too lazy to pull out the lights this year, turn on someone else's.
Thanksgiving break is finally here. Took a long time to get through last week, but I made it. It was the first Friday night in a long time that I didn't have to stand in the cold videotaping grown men tackling and fondling each other, a sport some people tell me is called football.
I'm looking for crap to sell on eBay for Christmas shopping moolah. I have a couple of cheezy electronic organizers that I may be able to get some money with.
I'm completely addicted to this new service I discovered called BookMooch. How it works is that you post your inventory of books you want to get rid of to earn points to recieve new ones. Once you've earned enough points, you can browse other people's inventories for books that you want. The only thing you have to pay for is the cost of mailing a book if someone requests one from you, which is usually a LOT less than the price of the book itself. It's a great deal if you're a book lover who doesn't want to shell out big bucks at the B&N.
