Forgot you tell everyone yesterday that I got a brand new laptop laptop from the Dell Outlet. It's a shiny, new, plastic-smelling E1505 decked out to my heart's content. I love this thing to death, so watch for a picture soon.
The job hunt isn't getting much easier. My old boss' boss isn't wanting to hire me back unless my actual bosses give a damn good reason why. I'll give 'em a good reason why! The whole department will be waist deep in dog shit if they don't get any help over the summer, since they're doing a complete network overhaul. I was the most effective member of the team last year, so I don't see why he isn't keeling before me. But I digress...
If I don't get that job, I'll apply to more places and re-apply at a few as well. I'll get a job, whether I like it or not.
Only six actual school days left before I'm officially a senior. It's hard to believe, and I'll be out of this little podunk town before I know it. Sometimes, I wonder if I really hate this town as much as I say.
Our One Act Play advanced to district Wednesday. We'll be headed to GCC again next Tuesday to duke it out once more. I also am headed to Trenton for my Computer Applications competition on Monday as well. Lot's of stuff going on.
Exams are over, and easier than expected. Another UIL meet on Saturday, and I have the day off tomorrow and Monday.
Next week I'll be waiting for my new laptop to come in. What? You would like a picture? Well, I hope you won't be jealous.
Sweet, huh? What's that? Oh, well, it is getting on in age, but it can still do a lot at the ripe old age of 21. With the right cables and such, I'll be posting here remotely in no time! It's only a matter of time until it arrives at my doorstep.
No football playoffs this year. I wasn't really getting my hopes up about it, but it has to be depressing for the players themselves. It's been tough adjusting to a new coach with a new vision.
Since my filming job is over, I can finally focus on something actually interesting. UIL competition is starting to heat up. I went to a meet yesterday and brought home fourth place in Computer Applications. Not too bad for the first meet of the year with a printer that only printed in pink.
Tomorrow will be pretty interesting. Our Dual Credit US History class will be visiting the Holocaust museum in Dallas. We'll actually get a chance to speak to an actual Holocaust survivor for an hour. It'll probably be a trip we won't soon forget.
Although I can't experience the beauty of Aero, I can experience the doable good looks of Visa Basic with my fresh install of RC1.
It's running suprisingly well, with 95% of my existing programs working perfectly. iTunes? Works. OpenOffice? Yup. Firefox 2? Of course. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005? A tiny bit sluggish, but works perfectly. The only thing that won't work yet is my scanner, but that isn't the most essential part of my PC, anyway. I can't wait till I get a new computer and can really see what Vista can do.
I'm downloading Vista RC1 as I type, and I'm pretty excited. I'm pretty confident my computer can run it, but the video requirements are worrying me. I only have a 64MB GPU when it needs 128. I've been reading Paul Thurott's site and he's had pretty good luck with every system he's installed it on, even a low-end Celeron.
I recently read that Vox is now open to the public. I just want to take this time to welcome all newcomers to Vox, we're glad to have you over to party.
It started as a normal Saturday. Me and my mom went to town to run errands. No biggie. My mom wanted to stop by the thrift store. Okay, why not? I immediately walked to the desolate corner called the electronics section, to see the latest arrivals to the technological mortuary. What I found stunned me
Yes. I found a near-perfect Commodore 64. It's lacking the power cord, but one has my name on it on ebay. As well as a Datassette drive, two cartridge games, and a vintage commodore magazine. I am in geek heaven. Or I will be as soon as I win my power cord.
And it only cost me $12.12!
