Football season ended this past friday. We lost to Seymour 29-13. Our guys put up the fight of a lifetime, but it just wasn't enough. In my opinion, there were some very bad coaching decisions, but who am I to judge.
After the game, I walked into the locker room to find the seniors crushed. I along with the rest of the seniors, found ourselves crying and consoling each other. The quarterback, also a senior, was taking it pretty hard. I tried to cheer him up, but the gravity of the situation was too much to just brush off. This was the last time he would ever play with his best friends.
After that, we went to Logan's Roadhouse in downtown Wichita Falls, were the mood was lightened and people started to have a good time. After a long ride home, I trudged into my pickup and started it up, then knowing that that was the last time I would ever be behind the scenes of a football game. A sad evening indeed.
But this starts a new chapter in my final school year. We'll be starting One Act Play practice next week, and I'm the lead actor once again. This year is an ensemble show, which is a completely new thing to me, but it look very interesting and I cant wait to get started.
Christmas is also on its way, and I have no clue what I want for Christmas. My parents are just going to have to surprise me this year.
If you'll excuse me, I may have to go to the store and get some Zicam. I feel a tickle in my throat and snot is starting to drain.
I finally made it to the college today, after driving through some hellish rain along the way. I'm sitting in the lobby now, wiping my laptop bag dry and staring at the constant torrent that has been pounding everyone from Abilene to Ardmore for the past friggin' two weeks. I've heard all of these rumors about this thing called a "sun" on the message boards and on Facebook...is this "sun" for reals?
Gainesville floated away last week. The day after I drove down California Street, it was only navigable by boat. I stopped by this morning, and it looks like nothing ever happened. Good job, Gangs-ville!
I've been playing with the new Windows version of Safari for a while, but have slowly reverted back to Firefox. Safari is just too bare-bones for my tastes. And extensions are my lifeline, and Safari wasn't providing.
I'm wondering where I'm going to eat after class this evening. Maybe just stop by Mickey D's for a chicken sandwich, since I'm sick of eating hamburgers every damn Tuesday and Thursday.
NISD has given us a vacation this week, and I'm most likely taking off two days next week, since it will only be a two day work week. It always seems that when my family's vacation comes around, it's also monsoon season. Go figure. This is why we don't go camping anymore.
Well. The Technology department is going to have a meeting on Friday to determine what jobs need to be done and if hiring is needed for the summer. And the boss-man says that there's a 95% chance I'll be hired back. I really want to trust him...
I only have to take one exam this week, and my junior year is over. Food Technology is the exam, and it should be a blow-off deal. I'll be out in a jiff.
Stay tuned for more job search goodies and other crap I end up wanting to say. If you want so see what I'm doing at any time, go to my Jaiku page.
What's your favorite restaurant?
There's this place near my house in Sanger called Miguelito's. Best mexican food EVER! I have yet seen a place better. If you ever by chance are going north on I-35 on your way to Oklahoma, it's worth the exit.
What's your favorite drink or cocktail? What's in it?

It has to be Dr. Pepper. Dr. Pepper rules over every other soft drink. For you people outside of Texas, there is a special kind of Dr. Pepper that you've probably never heard of except in fairy tales and urban myths. Oh, but it exists.
I'm talking about Dublin Dr Pepper. The Dr. Pepper originally bottled in Dublin, TX; this Dr. Pepper is the exact same flavoring as the normal DP, but sweetened with REAL sugar. Not just that corn syrup. That's for pansies. There is more sugar in an 12oz bottle of Dublin DP than there is in a 24oz bottle of the sissy stuff. Now it is bottled in Abilene, mostly, so you can only find it usually south of Weatherford.
