Which are your favorite sites for shopping online?
Amazon.com, Buy.com, and mostly Woot.
Have you ever recycled an old computer or laptop? Where did you take it, and what steps did you take to protect your personal information?
I've never recycled a computer myself, since I still use my old computers off and on, but I have prepared computers to be recycled to work during the summer.
One of my tasks was to remove the stone-age Compaq servers out of the network room and move them into the warehouse. I had to remove the hard drives, as well. Since I worked at a school, these drives could hold sensitive information, which meant I had free reign as to how I could torture these drives. Immediately after removal, I threw them as hard as I could into the brick wall, and them dropped them from about six feet a couple times, before chunking them into a cardboard box. all of the drives were hopelessly mangled by the time I was done. It was great stress relief.
Started back to work yesterday, not feeling 100%. Had an upset stomach and lack of sleep the night before, probably due to my delightful dinner of Goobers and Mr. Pibb at the movies Sunday night. At least I got to watch Transformers, which is a great movie, by the way.
Big shakeup at work yesterday, as well. The whole Tech department has been moved from the supervision of Curriculum & Instruction to the Department of Administrative Services. Pretty much everyone except the Technology director seemed to approve of the move, so everything should be smooth sailing.
I've finally decided that I'll most likely be getting a Wii when my next paycheck arrives. I've used it on a couple of occasions at GameStop, and found it hard to put down. That's something that rarely happens to me with video games. I had never seen anything so addictive since picking up (and soon buying) a DS. Really awesome stuff.
Got another blog started. It's about gadgets, web 2.0, tech and such. I promise this one won't suck, since one of my friends should be working on it as well.
Well, go to get ready for class.
Forgot you tell everyone yesterday that I got a brand new laptop laptop from the Dell Outlet. It's a shiny, new, plastic-smelling E1505 decked out to my heart's content. I love this thing to death, so watch for a picture soon.
The job hunt isn't getting much easier. My old boss' boss isn't wanting to hire me back unless my actual bosses give a damn good reason why. I'll give 'em a good reason why! The whole department will be waist deep in dog shit if they don't get any help over the summer, since they're doing a complete network overhaul. I was the most effective member of the team last year, so I don't see why he isn't keeling before me. But I digress...
If I don't get that job, I'll apply to more places and re-apply at a few as well. I'll get a job, whether I like it or not.
Only six actual school days left before I'm officially a senior. It's hard to believe, and I'll be out of this little podunk town before I know it. Sometimes, I wonder if I really hate this town as much as I say.
Exams are over, and easier than expected. Another UIL meet on Saturday, and I have the day off tomorrow and Monday.
Next week I'll be waiting for my new laptop to come in. What? You would like a picture? Well, I hope you won't be jealous.
Sweet, huh? What's that? Oh, well, it is getting on in age, but it can still do a lot at the ripe old age of 21. With the right cables and such, I'll be posting here remotely in no time! It's only a matter of time until it arrives at my doorstep.
