About to head into my class for the last time today. I feel pretty confident about the final. I studied hard and finally got most of the world's countries engraved into my skull. Why we had to study them for Sociology I'll never know.
This will probably be the last week of work for me. I would like to have a couple of weeks of doing nothing before headed back to actual school. Man, it feels like I never left.
Started back to work yesterday, not feeling 100%. Had an upset stomach and lack of sleep the night before, probably due to my delightful dinner of Goobers and Mr. Pibb at the movies Sunday night. At least I got to watch Transformers, which is a great movie, by the way.
Big shakeup at work yesterday, as well. The whole Tech department has been moved from the supervision of Curriculum & Instruction to the Department of Administrative Services. Pretty much everyone except the Technology director seemed to approve of the move, so everything should be smooth sailing.
I've finally decided that I'll most likely be getting a Wii when my next paycheck arrives. I've used it on a couple of occasions at GameStop, and found it hard to put down. That's something that rarely happens to me with video games. I had never seen anything so addictive since picking up (and soon buying) a DS. Really awesome stuff.
Got another blog started. It's about gadgets, web 2.0, tech and such. I promise this one won't suck, since one of my friends should be working on it as well.
Well, go to get ready for class.
Well, I had what was probably the worst vacation trip of my 16 years of life yesterday. We (the parents and I) decided we'd go to good 'ol Commerce, Texas to take a look at Texas A&M Commerce, a place where I was considering to go. We arrived in Commerce, only to find out that it was the most boring, run down town you can imagine. The college? It was alright. It was just your average, old, rural university that has went through about 7,843 name changes in it's history. After we finished walking the campus, and recovering from our shock, we decided we weren't going to stay in a hotel in Commerce. due to the utter lack of things to do there. Then we started driving, and driving...and driving, with no objective whatsoever. We stopped at a convenience store in Greenville to regroup and to decide what in the hell we were actually going to do. We decided to head towards Dallas. We eventually found ourselves in the West End at the Sixth Floor museum. I had told my parents about it and how great it was, and they found it very informative, along with stirring up memories long buried in their minds.
We ended up having a pretty good time. We ate in Denton and then stopped at a hotel we frequent quite often. Ours.
Moving away from yesterday, I started a checking account for the first time last week, and should be getting my first debit card sometime in the next couple of days. I just hope I can keep money in it.
I have another week off this coming week, but I'll probably run off crying back to work in desperation and sheer boredom. Wish me luck...
Well, my first week of work hasn't been that bad. The new network engineer is starting this Monday, and I can't wait to meet him. Sure, the work I'm doing isn't really the most glamorous, and I really don't do much of anything on the technical side, but I'm learning a lot and having a pretty decent time doing it. I guess it's better when your dad is your boss, too.
My college class has been, to say the least, incredible. My professor is a short, balding, eccentric New Zealander who has a great sense of humor and makes very engaging conversation. I'm surprised I could get this great of an experience from a junior college. We always have great conversations that are never boring, and never condescending.
Anyhoo...I leave you all today with an amusing comic. Chuckle or die.
Finally finished work today. A very disorganized and lousy work week it was, too. At least I got some extra cash.
It's going to be a quick week of relaxation before school starts.
My Commodore cassette drive is on its way. Hopefully it'll come in the next week.
Oh! Almost forgot to mention that I passed the THEA. Did pretty well in all three sections That relaxed me quite a bit. Now I'm not so worried.
